To those long and covered with sands shores My soul’s gratitude is one sincere and endless. When waves were crawling to my feet in wrath, And slowly returning home, breathless... I understood the goal of high tides, And the eternal work of tides, called low… When after hiding bottom from my sight, The sea again was ready it to show, -- The two great truths were given me by waves, Reflecting light, the husky one and grayish: “All vanishes in world without trace.” “It is impossible without trace to vanish.” Translated by Yevgeny Bonver, July, 2001
