Tan Eng Hai: LIFE

Life

Lasy crescent moon hanging
  On the sleepy curtains of the clouds,
  I backed myself into a corner of life
  Afraid of the daily crowd.

I asked why and from myself
  I heard a reply:
  "It is human to be shy,
  It is normal when you cry."

For I wish I'm hidden
  In the lost Garden of Eden
  And not wander in the desert
  To weather the storms and endless blizzards.

Even the best must die
  To the fight or to some a race;
  To me it's a plight
  Till I walk it my own pace.
